      Specifications

      • Each kitten visit includes the check up, consultation, any vaccines that are due as determined by Friendship Springs Veterinary Care, dewormings for hookworms and roundworms, and a single dose of heartworm/flea preventative.  The last package includes a single intestinal parasite examination (fecal flotation test) to be performed after the last deworming.

      • The package does not include feline leukemia virus/feline immunodeficiency virus testing, tick medications; dewormings for gastrointestinal parasites other than hookworms or roundworms; additional intestinal parasite examinations (fecal flotation tests) or other specialized intestinal parasite tests needed because of diarrhea or other illness; other examinations, diagnostics, treatments or prescriptions for other medical conditions; or surgical procedures.

      • This program is only allowable if the pet needs two or more well care visits about 4 weeks apart regardless of age.  This generally means kitten and older stray cats or rescues with an uncertain well care history are eligible.  Friendship Springs Veterinary Care will make the final determination of eligibility.

      •  Pets needing only the one visit are not eligible; services for these pets will be itemized individually.

      • The intestinal parasite examination (fecal flotation test) is only included in the last kitten visit package if it is completed within 45 days of the last visit; if it is not completed then the test is forfeit. This is to encourage you to complete this important test on time for your safety as well as that of your pet.

      • Dewormings and intestinal parasite examinations are in accordance with CDC recommendations for hookworms and roundworms due to their high potential to infect humans.

      • Flea and tick medications are recommended for all pets in Georgia every month of the year; however, these must be purchased separately from the kitten  package.

      •  We reserve the right to change the fee for this package at any time. The package does not include flea/tick medications; dewormings for gastrointestinal parasites other than hookworms or roundworms; additional intestinal parasite examinations (fecal flotation tests) or other specialized intestinal parasite tests needed because of diarrhea or other illness; other examinations, diagnostics, treatments or prescriptions for other medical conditions; or surgical procedures.

Whats the difference? The Merial line of feline vaccines is called PureVax.  This is the product line recommended by most feline, infectious disease, and oncology specialists for cats because they are believed to be safer and associated with fewer adverse effects than any other brand.  However, they are more expensive than other brands.  Many humane societies do not offer this product line because of the expense; instead they just vaccinate in the hopes that no one will ask what vaccine was used.  We aren't going to do this.  We are going to give you the choice.
