| Do you believe that all veterinarians do anesthesia and surgery the same way? If you do, then you may be surprised to find that (unfortunately) there are no consistent required standards of care for veterinary anesthesia and surgery, and we are sure you will agree that these areas are no place to be cutting corners. While skimping on anesthesia-related procedures can save money, the real price is decreased safety, increased danger, and reduced comfort for your pet. Quality and skill in the anesthetic and surgical arenas vary widely between veterinary facilities. Many pet owners rightfully express concern about anesthesia and surgical safety. While anesthesia and surgery can be risky ventures, they don’t necessarily have to be. By practicing anesthesia and surgery in accordance with the standards of the American Animal Hospital Association we intend and strive to be one of the safest veterinary hospitals around. Below is a list of some of our common surgical procedures, what services they include, why those services are included, and what the associated fees are. We have also included a few photos demonstrating how we do surgery. And, as an example of just how variable surgical standards vary between veterinarians, we have also included a couple of links to other veterinary facilities in Georgia that have of their own accord posted photos of their own surgery suites on the Internet. Take a good look at how the surgeons are dressed and the backgrounds of their operating rooms and decide for yourself if this how you would want your pet to have surgery. We always strongly urge our clients to investigate their veterinarians facilities. We challenge all veterinarians to give their clients a tour of their hospital upon demand. |
